Application of Early Spring Fertilizer and Pre-Emergent Crabgrass Control
When it’s still cool, Let’s Get Green applies the first of its annual treatments. The early spring application will slowly wake up your dormant lawn and get it green and growing. In addition to revitalizing your lawn, this treatment controls crabgrass before it’s a problem (usually in late May/early June). Pre-emergent crabgrass control lasts all summer long.
Application of Late Spring Fertilizer, and Broadleaf Weed Control
Scheduled about 6 weeks after the first treatment (the typical amount of time between treatments), the late spring application employs an organic fertilizer designed to keep your lawn green and growing through the summer. In addition, green treats for broadleaf weeds such as clover, dandelion, and chickweed.
Application of 100% Organic Late Summer Organic Fertilizer and Broadleaf Weed Control (Early Summer AND Late Summer)
To encourage a durable lawn, we apply a specially formulated, organic fertilizer at the most appropriate time during the summer. Benefits: Loosens hard soil and improves aeration, protects against erosion, increases water absorption, raises organic matter content, boosts plant and soil vitality and encourages the presence of earthworms and beneficial soil organisms. Green also applies broadleaf control to ensure weeds are completely eliminated.
Late Fall (October through the beginning of November):
Application of Late Fall High-Nitrogen Winterizer Fertilizer and Broadleaf Weed Control (as needed)
Let’s Get Green’s Winterizer fertilizer treatment gives your lawn what it needs to continue root development while also supplying a high dose of nitrogen, which will help your develop a web-like root system over the winter and help your lawn green up early in the spring. We also spot-treat for any lingering broadleaf weeds.
Anytime Lime Treatment (Effective in Any Season):
Application of High-Calcium, Grey, Pelletized Limestone
Let’s Get Green uses Pelletized Lime (versus the more usual white powdery lime), a more concentrated kind of lime in pellet form. Lime is a soil conditioner, which helps balance the soil by reducing soil acidity. Because most weeds thrive in acidic soil, lime application helps keep weeds in check, naturally! The lime helps future fertilizing treatments work more efficiently. Though lime can be applied anytime throughout the year, winter is a popular time for this application. We use a high calcium lime, the calcium helps strengthen the grass plant, much like calcium strengthens your bones.
